Meet Our Team
John and Catherine/Peris Mutegi are the owners of Haven of Peace Academy. The couple heads a very well able team which offer help and support to potential new home-schoolers with the registration process, diagnostic testing of scholars coming from other schooling systems over to ACE as well as the evaluation and recommendation of the placing of the children.
The couple has been married since 2001. They are blessed with three children. The first born is almost transitioning to the university, the second one is in grade 9 and the third one is in grade 2. All the children have been schooled with ACE curriculum since day one of school.
Catherine with the support of John has taught in both regular ACE schools and has also home-schooled their children during the years she has been in the curriculum. She has also been trained by AEE in the training of educators in the curriculum and has conducted these trainings since 2016. She has been also a science moderator for the certification body ICCE.
JOHN MUTEGI
Administrator/Operations
After graduating as an engineer from Jomo Kenyatta University, John has an experience of 22 years since 1999 in the automotive field running different kinds of operations that include fleet management, technical support, and aftersales management. John has worked at different levels in various private sector business organizations, from being in a productive team, junior, middle, and currently in senior management. John already has additional professional training in Zodiac Business Simulation training (Finance), Leadership development training, Effective leadership workshops training, Gallup strengths insights and action, Ford dealership Stars training and performance management training. John is a born again and spirit filled believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and believes that as parents we are called and anointed of God to train, raise, and direct our children and their families to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. CATHERINE/PERIS MUTEGI
Principal
After graduating from Jomo Kenyatta university with BSc degree in horticulture and working in the field as a research assistance in the same university for two years she decided to go and study education from Egerton University. She graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in education and became a high school teacher. Catherine taught in some public and private schools in Nairobi before encountering the ACE curriculum in 2003. She has taught in three ACE schools as a supervisor before moving to homeschool. Catherine is also a certified ACE trainer by AEE.

Statement Of Faith
We at Haven of Peace Academy believe in:
The Godly inspiration of the Bible as God’s Word in all parts and without error in its origin.
The One true God, eternally existent Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who created Heaven and earth and everything that can be seen and unseen out of nothing, and also created man in His own Image by a direct, immediate act.
The pre-existence, incarnation, virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, ascension to heaven and second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The fall of man, the need of regeneration by the operation of the Holy Spirit on the basis of grace alone, and the resurrection of all to eternal life or damnation.
The spiritual relationship of all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, living a life of righteous works, separated from the world, witnessing of His saving grace through the ministry of the Holy Spirit and because of that, in faith we can confess that:
Jesus is Lord of our life and that we are the righteousness of God through the blood of Jesus. Once confessed, our sins are forgiven because Jesus made a single sacrifice for sin once and for all. We are more than conquerors, because we walk and live in total obedience to the Word and will of God for our lives.
We can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us. We clothe ourselves with the weapons of God for spiritual warfare; we put on the girdle of Truth, and the breastplate of righteousness and on our feet.
The willingness to spread the gospel of Christ. We take up the shield of faith and we cover our heads with the helmet of salvation. And then above all else we take up the Word of God which is the Sword of the Spirit. We confess it over our lives and make it a part of who we are. We confess to the powers and principalities that JESUS is Lord and there is NO other god. God created the heavens and the earth, and He still reigns supreme over everything and overall.
We confess that we are blessed children of God so that we can be a blessing to others. We are:
Prosperous in every area of our lives because the favor of God is on our lives. We are successful in everything we do because God’s hand is on our lives. We have no lack in any area. God anoints us with supernatural health, wisdom, discernment, and knowledge for everything we need to do. We confess this by faith in the POWERFUL NAME OF JESUS, our LORD and SAVIOUR.
